Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick is for those who are facing serious and significant physical illnesses that can put one in danger of death. It would be appropriate therefore to be anointed upon hospitalization and/or prior to any significant surgery, but not for minor surgical procedures or for a broken bone (unless there is a threat of serious complications). The Sacrament may be repeated after a few months or after a significant downturn in health.
The Anointing of the Sick is available by request from one of the priests, by appointment (just contact the parish office), or on the 2nd Saturday of the month immediately following the 8:30 a.m. Mass.
