Beginning the first weekend of Lent, Saturday Vigil, February 20, and Sunday Masses February 21, and at all subsequent Masses, these special options will be reinstated in the Church and the Chapel:
-
The custom of introducing yourself and the shaking of hands before Mass begins;
-
The Sacred Host may be received in your hand or on your tongue;
-
You may drink the Precious Blood from the chalice (this is always an optional procedure);
-
The Sign of Peace will be reinstated at the proper place in the Liturgy;
-
The Holy Water will again be at all the entrances of the Church and Chapel;
We suggest that you all continue to use the hand sanitizers at the doors of the Church and Chapel before entering.
All Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist will come forward during the Sign of Peace and will continue to sanitize their hands at the Altar before distributing the Sacred Host or Chalice.
If there is a return of the Swine Flu, Msgr. Daly will revisit these decisions. Thank you for your understanding and participation in helping our Christ the King parish family and school limit the exposure and subsequent effects of the flu.
