RELICS OF ST. JOHN BOSCO TOUR OUR DIOCESE
Bishop Lynch is pleased to announce that the Diocese of St. Petersburg has been chosen as one of only eight U.S. stops that will be receiving the relics of St. John Bosco for public veneration. This is part of a worldwide tour which will encompass 130 nations celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Salesian Congregation and in anticipation of the of the 200th Anniversary of Don Bosco's birth near Turin, Italy in 1815.
It is anticipated that the relic will arrive at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle the early evening of Wednesday, September 22. After a welcoming prayer service, the Cathedral will be open all night long for prayer. Bishop Lynch will celebrate a special Mass in honor of St. John Bosco in the Cathedral at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday September 23. Veneration will continue throughout the remainder of the day including a youth rally and procession. It will conclude with multi-cultural celebration at 7:00p.m. September 23.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE - September 22 - October 31
From September 22 - October 31, our community is uniting with hundreds of other cities around the world for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history - the 40 Days for Life campaign. 40 Days for Life is made up of three compo-nents:

Prayer and Fasting: believers throughout our city are invited to join together for 40 days of fervent prayer and fasting for an end to abortion.

Peaceful Vigil: stand for life during a 40-day peaceful public witness outside of Tampa Woman's Health Center, Inc. (2010 E. Fletcher Ave, Tampa, FL 33612).

Community Outreach: help take a positive, upbeat pro-life message to every corner of our city through media efforts, advo-cacy, and public visibility.
Our parishioners have been asked to cover at a day of the vigil: October 6, 2010 from 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. (two hours shifts).
