Haiti Outreach - Parish Wide Initiative: God has blessed our parish with many gifts, and we feel that He calls us to share our gifts, particularly with less fortunate Catholics. To this end our parish is involved with three missions in Haiti.
Christ the King "Sister" School Partnership
In 2005 Christ the King Catholic Church made a long term commitment to assist St. Suzanne Parish in the Fort Liberte Diocese, one of the poorest areas in Haiti. The parish wide initiative will be developed over the next few years with the first step being a commitment to help fund the construction of a school in the St. Suzanne parish which will also be named Christ the King Catholic School, our twin parish school. This facility will serve 400 students daily and be used as a parish church for worship on Sunday.
Help Brings Hope for Haiti
Help Brings Hope for Haiti is a non profit organization that was formed by several parishioners of Christ the King to help the poorest of the poor in Haiti. They work directly with the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Liberte and Fr. Jean of Radio Soliel. Their mission is widespread and includes: building schools, organizing medical missions, providing equipment and books, drilling wells, providing food, and paying the education costs of students, teachers, and other professionals. For more information, please visit their website at www.hbhh.org or read their blog http://helpbringshopeforhaiti.blogspot.com.

Radio Soleil
Radio Soleil is the Catholic radio station in Haiti which is run by Fr. Desinord Jean. For many people in Haiti, Radio Soleil is the only way to hear the good news of Christ and to know what is going on in their country. Fr. Jean lived at Christ the King while working at WBVM. Our parishioners continue to support this mission each year with financial contributions.
Kinderdorphen Chile
Kinderdorpen Chile is an assistant center established to help orphaned and abandoned children. They provide housing, medical care, and education, and vocational training. It was begun in 1987 as Aldea de Hermanos by the late Fr. Jan Sanders of the Netherlands and our parish continues to support this mission with a financial donation each year. Fr. Sanders visited Christ the King many times to bring us news of the needs and improvements our donations have provided for Kinderdorpen Chile. Contact the Parish Office at 876-5841
Nicaraguan Christian Relief Ministries
Christ the King parishioner Amanda Valle Peters began this ministry in the 1990's after personally experiencing the healing power of Christ. The ministry focuses on assisting the poorest families, orphans, and the elderly in her home country of Nicaragua. The earthquake of 1992 as well as years of war and Communism has devastated Nicaragua, which is the poorest country in South America. Donations of clothing, household, and school supplies are distributed under Amanda's supervision. The ministry also brings donations of medical supplies and equipment and assists the seriously ill secure medical treatment. Women are taught to sew and are given a donated sewing machine in order to provide for their families. They see to spiritual needs by assisting Catholic Churches in the Northern part of the country with equipment for church structures and items for the liturgy. Prayer groups are formed and Bibles are provided to help the people grow in their faith. Donations of time, goods, and money are always needed and welcome. Villa La Paz
Villa La Paz means "House of Hope," and is a center for destitute and sick children in Chaclacayo, Peru. Christ the King Parish supports this mission, which is the life's work of Tampa's own, Anthony Lazzara, M.D., with a financial donation each year.
